I have exciting news about a project I've been quietly working on for the past year. My first "book"—the Chair Yoga Deck—is finally available to order.

This deck is your key to healthy movement – wherever you are, and whatever your level of ability.

This deck makes a perfect addition to your home wellness toolkit, and  it also makes a great gift item.

It can help build confidence in your body while supporting you in establishing an easy self-care habit. Chair yoga is great for older adults, desk workers, and anyone looking to bring a healthy habit into everyday life.

The deck has big, beautifully illustrated cards for diverse users. It includes a booklet to guide you through the basics, plus 30 suggested sequences categorized into 5 difficulty levels, from beginner-friendly to more experienced.

How We Made It

For this project, I teamed up with illustrator Kate Francis whose skillful hand brought out the details of the poses, making them clear and instructional while also representing the diversity of people who will benefit from this practice.

We were incredibly lucky to team up with Penguin Random House, who published the deck because they saw that I have 25 years of experience teaching yoga with an emphasis on making yoga accessible to all ages and ability levels.

Why Ordering TODAY Matters

With this being my first-ever publication, I'm told that your early orders and reviews will make a HUGE difference to the success of the deck. They determine so many things, including whether large retailers will stock the deck in-store, how many copies bookstores will order, and whether mainstream media outlets will decide to cover a book about chair yoga.

Order Your Copy Here

You can order NOW from Amazon or any of the bookstores on the Penguin Random House page, or you can call your local bookstore and ask to order there.

Thank you!

I so appreciate the support I receive from this community every day. Thank you for watching my YouTube videos, subscribing to my app, leaving comments, and sharing the videos with family and friends... this stuff matters so much and it's the reason I keep doing it.

Lynette McDonald it’s more likely your bone structure, as Diane said. Many people find square pose difficult for this reason.

"her majesty" 😆 — love it! And how funny that this alternative shoelace-entry method you describe can make such a difference.

Happy Baby is meant to be a relaxing pose, so if that's not your experience, a swap is definitely in order! It sounds like your frustration may also be trigger old wounds – which must be difficult since our yoga practice is supposed to be a safe place.Sounds like a great reason to remove happy pose from your repertoire and replace it with something that feels GOOD to your body – while still giving you a stretch in the same target area (low back).Upside-down child's pose (aka hugging your knees while on your back) makes a good alternative. Frog-on-the-wall is also a lovely one. Another idea is to place a cushion under your seat in happy baby – elevating your hips is a game changer for some people. It's possible you just didn't hit the body-proportion lottery for this particular pose – but keep in mind – proportions that hinder one pose can often be helpful in other poses.Wishing you the best as you explore alternatives that make your body feel whole and happy. 😊❤️
