A rare sighting indeed! He actually became quite insistent about getting fed, and I had to stop mid-class to feed him! (I edited that part out.)

I’m so sorry Eleanore. Several people were stuck in the waiting room without me knowing it. I have reached out to the ones I knew about, but I didn’t know you were one of them. Look out for an email from me with a peace offering! 🙏

Hi Elizabeth, Knowing you're an experienced yogi I'd say the side-veering elephant pose you discovered sounds like a fine alternative, and it can even still be called triangle pose even if you rotate your pelvis to face toward the floor. Other than that - wow, triangle is such a complex pose. I think different people get very different things out of it. I mentioned in this class that the two main target areas for my purposes were the side-body and the hamstrings. What I didn't mention is that there may also a satisfying side bend around the sacrum, which your pose may not provide, in which case you could add banana pose or mermaid to your sequence. Triangle with one or both knees bent, and/or feet rotated different ways, can be friendlier for some people's bodies. Finally, you may want to play around with doing triangle next to a chair for your bottom hand to rest on. This can be magical! Let me know if any of these ideas are helpful!
