Commented on Daily Yoga Stretch

19 Apr 07:27

Found myself longing to stay in the poses longer, but appreciated a quicker practice to compliment a busy day ahead.  Love deer pose as it helps me develop a better stretch to work with half saddle.  I've am focusing more and more on the breath as a tool within the poses.  Learning to relax is so beneficial.

As I suspected and is now confirmed, Devi is an aspect of the divine, visiting us with gifts for mind body and soul.  🙏

There's something sacred we find in the moves, the breath.  We find this moments where we engage with life fully.  This practice brought me there, this morning.  My side half saddles better, and I loved the move from the figure four to twisted roots...it made my stretch new an unique.  Sutras 91, the reading for today which followed:

Close the ears that track the outer world,

Open the ears of the soul.

Engage the muscles at the base of the pelvis,

The intimate special places,

And cherish the vibrating energies there contained.

The song of creation,

Sustaining, enlivening,

Is thrumming in your body,

Whispering secrets.

Listen in.

Meditating on the symphony of your own life currents,

Enter the palace of the Creator.

Finding use to the breath an even more valuable tool day by day.  Moving mindfully deeper and deeper into the stretches.  Props are my friend!  Have a wonderful day Devi!

Beautiful way to start the day.  Gentle, yet very deep and meaningful stretches.  Devi, you had such a wonderful smile at the end... I can tell you love your work.

Perfect stretch as I prepare for the Hands Off rally today.  It's been a while since I protested, ERA and anti-war days, but here I am again.  Using the yogi's breath to deepen each pose mindfully.  Loved the work on stiffness from yesterday's Spring yard work.  Taking a positive attitude and energy to the street!

Found time for this practice this morning and also found the suggestion to just keep whatever I brought to the mat.  I focused a lot on the yogi breath throughout as my thoughts began to soften along with my poses.  Relaxed into things with the extra time, letting the calm meet the chaos, eventually washing over it.  Your three practice OMs came through loud and clear.  😮

Finally finding time this morning for this one.

So somehow I did this practice a couple of days ago, but the revisit was peaceful and restful.  Calm within the chaos of events.  I'm learning half saddles my way, and suspect over time will progress.  I know that way of bending is just something this old body never really did most my life.

I have to mention the end of practice, moving with the breath, bringing hands over head, then down in prayer is always the best rush through my spine.  Devi Daly...the best part of my day.

I took Rachel Korda cue and revisited this practice and it soothed both body and mind.  Taking care, the time in the poses allowed me to think better through circumstances and the day ahead. A wonderful compliment to the Spring morning unfolding outside my window.  Then I read Sutra #80.

 That space is bad.

This space is good.

The ride is rough,

Or the going is smooth.

We are thrown into suffering,

We are thrown into joy.

Beloved Soul Mate—

Find the space in the center,

The pulsing spaciousness

Encompassing all opposites.

Here the essences of creation are at play:

Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Space,

And the senses that perceive them.

The center is the dancing ground.
