Sounds like it hit the spot, Sereti!

Yes - love feeling the Om vibration in that special time at the end of a deep practice 🙏

Glad you enjoyed it Sereti. I've uploaded several other sessions for this area of the body in the past month, and more are on the way. Search "upper body" in the catalog to find them :)
Thanks Saskia, what an important comment. This class is part of the current yin program, which is a dream for some students, but feels unbalanced for others. My usual monthly yoga program is a mix of yin, vinyasa and yang yoga. It’s great that you’re listening to what your body needs today, and it’s always important to get an appropriate mix of yin and yang activity.

So true! Thanks Elizabeth. 😊

Thanks Diane, I so appreciate hearing this from someone who has a very different body from mine. I do worry that I can't adequately demo the infinite number of variations and modifications, having only one body, but I'm hearing that it's working for you, which is great!
Great to hear you appreciate the rests - they're so crucial to integrating the practice!
The best preparatory postures for sitting cross-legged are all the yin postures! Particularly she might benefit from Figure 4 on the Wall and the leg/hamstring stretches with a strap. Many older yogis, and yogis with inflexible hips, like to position themselves near a wall when they practice, for back support. That said, at age 70 she may not realistically expect much to change, and might do better to find adapted yin practices that don't involve much sitting. The best adapted class on this site is called Yin Yoga for Inflexible Hips.
Welcome Saskia, Nice to hear you enjoyed the half shoelace exploration. It makes sense that you'd feel more low back stretch than hamstrings - this is not uncommon. Glad to have you practicing with us!
I didn’t suggest it in this particular class but I often do for this pose. Game changer indeed.
