Itโ€™s been a whirlwind of summer travel, and Iโ€™m now back at home recovering. Hereโ€™s a fun pic from dance camp last month.

Have you gotten a chance to do the recent Stretch & Chill class? Itโ€™s a special one that I recorded at a guesthouse south of Yosemite. Itโ€™s a calming class perfect for evening or anytime you need to unwind. You can actually watch the sun setting over the trees behind me throughout the video. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿงก

Whatโ€™s one pose you didnโ€™t like at first but have grown to love?

For me, itโ€™s reclined butterfly. When I was younger, I felt nothing in this pose โ€” but now, in my 51 yo vessel, it gives me a sweet gentle stretch ๐Ÿ˜Œ

How do you like to set the mood for your practice space?

My current ritual is to sweep the floor, dim the lights, and put on yoga-friendly clothes that make me feel good. These three little things really help to shift the energy in the space.

Whatโ€™s your favorite way to set up your space?

Hi from New Zealand. I have been practising here for the last 6 months and have been thoroughly enjoying the benefits. Today I went to perform pigeon pose (which I usually have no problems with), and I noticed a lot of pain in my right knee, the same was felt in child's pose. What could be causing this, and how can I help it? Thank you. Love & Light.

How has your body or your practice changed with the seasons or with age?

This year Iโ€™ve noticed I really crave more decompression in my lower back, so Iโ€™m holding my forward bends longer than I used to in my 30s and 40s. Iโ€™d love to hear what youโ€™ve noticed in your own body or practice over the years.

What was your first experience of yin yoga like?

Iโ€™ll never forget my first yin class about 20 years ago, where an athletic male yoga teacher had us doing dragon for the loooongest time. I hated it! He didn't guide us to relax into it, so I thought I was supposed to engage and square my hips the whole time. I got the impression that yin was for people who wanted to force their bodies into shapes.

I didn't change my mind until I saw Paul Grilley's Anatomy For Yoga DVD. Paul's teaching pulled me into yin โ€“ reluctantly at first, to be honest โ€“ but the more I studied with him over the years, the more I ended becoming the yin lover that I am.
